Austria Wien and WSG Tirol Share Points in 2-0 Draw
Unbeaten Run Extends for Both Sides
Austria Wien and WSG Tirol played out a goalless draw in the Austrian Bundesliga on Saturday, extending their unbeaten runs in the league.
The result leaves Austria Wien in fifth place and WSG Tirol in seventh. Both teams have now gone three games without defeat since the winter break.
Austria Wien had the better chances in the first half, with Christoph Monschein and Dominik Fitz both coming close to scoring. However, Tirol goalkeeper Simon Rofner was in excellent form and made a string of fine saves.
Tirol grew into the game in the second half and had a good chance to take the lead when Dominik Bacher fired wide from close range. Both sides continued to push for a winner in the closing stages, but the deadlock could not be broken.
Austria Wien will be disappointed not to have taken all three points, but they will be pleased to have extended their unbeaten run. Tirol will also be happy with a point, as they continue to climb the table.
Austria Wien will next face Rapid Wien in the derby on 23 April, while Tirol will host Hartberg on the same day.
